Leave the design as it is

🎅 Happy Holiday 🎄 This is Muran PR-team KozuKen. I’ll post it as a hint for ideas.

Today’s “seed of ideas,” I would like to talk about preserving the design of tools and improving functionality while retaining design.

I think that there is a prejudice in the design of tools. For example, if you ask 100 people about cameras, musical instruments, air conditioners, cars, etc., 90% of the people will think of similar designs. The design is completely different! I think some people say, but if you look at the design with a large framework, the appearance will be similar.
(I feel a little forced … lol)

Among the many tools, I would like to talk about the piano this time. The prototype of the piano was created in the 1650s! Until now, the design has not changed because the piano design has been completed!

Speaking of the piano, we all know that you are the king of musical instruments. You’ve often seen schools and friends’ houses! However, many people may not know much about electronic pianos.
The electronic piano you imagine

Acoustic piano deterioration, cheaper version, right?

You may have a slightly negative image, but that’s not true!  Recent electronic pianos have evolved considerably compared to the old ones, and they are becoming quite acoustic!

Electronic piano

I would like to tell you a lot about electronic pianos, but this time I would like to focus on speakers and design.

Common electronic pianos had speakers on the underside. for that reason,
・ There is no sense of presence (the sound rises from below)
・ Noise problem (I tend to raise the volume because I’m far from my ear)
・ The quality of practice is not good (the difference between the real sound and the sound)
The solution was to put a slit in the front of the piano and incorporate a speaker.

The interesting thing about this is
・ Leave the completed design of the piano
・ It is realistic and close to how you can hear the sound of an acoustic piano
・ Slits provide directivity and make it difficult for sound to diffuse around.
That is the point. In this way, I am glad to be able to create values and ideas that have both design and functionality while maintaining the universal and beautiful design that has existed so far!

I hope you get some tips!
