Making paper cars
Hello, everyone! I’m Ryo from MURAN 2022 Web Promotion Team.
It‘s typhoon season in Japan and the weather is changing rapidly, so we need to be careful.
This is my first time to post Seeds of Idea.
As I graduated from the faculty of Economics, I am not familiar with manufacturing at all.
That is why I have decided to make something with my own hands and try to make a paper-folding, origami(*), for the first time since elementary school!
I am going to make paper cars because DENSO is an automobile parts company.
(*) Origami is a Japanese art of folding paper into decorative figures.
I Start folding origami!
I got origami paper at a 100-yen store only for this purpose lol.
I am folding by referring to an online article.
It’s becoming a shape of a car.
It looks like I will be completed in a few more minutes.
I did it! It only took about 5 minutes to finish.
This car is easy to make, so you can make it with children of yours.
Let’s try it in your free time!
However, it was quicker and easier than I expected. So, I decided to make another one.
I cannot end this article here lol.
Next, I will move up a level and fold a three-dimensional car.
This is the first time I need glue for origami.
I couldn’t fold origami as complicated as this when I was a kid, so I felt myself growing up!
I put the glue in the wrong place and it’s a little misshapen, but it’s done!
I feel so accomplished!
Two sheets of origami are used for the base and the top.
I learned that to achieve a beautiful result, it is important to mark the folds in advance and not to fold them in the wrong direction.
According to the information on the Internet, it takes about 20 minutes to make it.
But in the end, I managed to complete this about 40 minutes.
It may be a little difficult for children to make this. If parents make it for children, they would be happy.
What is Hints of Seeds of Ideas?
By changing the color of the origami and adding designs, you can make a car of your choice.
“Change it the way you like it” may be Seeds of Ideas.
It is difficult to come up with ideas just by looking at things or listening to, but by using things or experiencing, you can get a lot of ideas like “I wish it had this kind of function,” or “Is it possible to do it this way?”
This time, I tried making a paper.
We live in an age where we can get any information on the Internet, but making the car by myself gave me a fresh sense of accomplishment.
Why don’t you try making something next weekend?
