Workshop report on ideas for DENSO MURAN
Hello. This is Muran PR-team Iwata.
There are only a few remaining until the idea recruitment deadline, but how about everyone?
This time, I would like to tell you about the practical mini-seminar ” Idea Creation Workshop for DENSO MURAN” held on February 7.
Good ideas (interesting ideas) are hard to come out even if you are thinking alone.
This workshop was held as a “place” of co-creation where the wisdom of fellows was combined and brought to fruition while discussing with people with various knowledge and wisdom. This is a course where you can learn while practicing tips and ideas for taking advantage of what Mr. Hidetoshi Suzuki has experienced so far.
Tips for releasing lots of ideas
First of all, they explained the tips for putting out ideas.
・ Be crazy: Free thinking
・ Be child: Develop and enjoy what you can think of
People who think “smart”, “seriously”, and “logical” need to think freely because they can come up with other people, so it is important to enjoy it as if they were five years old. I heard that it was.
How to make an idea
Next, they explained how to make an idea.
This seems to have two principles. (From “A Technique For Producing Ideas” by James W. Young)
The idea is one new combination
- The idea is one new combination.
Finding a new combination of an existing thing (idea) and another existing thing (idea) - The ability to create new combinations is enhanced by the ability to find the relevance of things
If you try to do it, it is difficult to connect directly, so you need intelligent labor like “riddles”
When looking for a combination of ideas, it seems better that the combination is as unrelated as possible. By doing so, it is possible to create something that has never existed in the world.
Practicing ideas
From here it becomes practice.
1.Theme selection and rules
Each team decides on a theme.
Ideas will be brainstormed according to the following rules.
・ Don’t criticize: Don’t judge the idea that came out. Extend ideas from the positive side.
・ Speak freely: Any trivial opinion is acceptable. It can be something that makes you laugh.
・ Increase numbers more than quality: come up with lots of ideas.
・ Connecting ideas: piggybacking on ideas of other people.
2.Producing ideas by stimulating wording
Ideas come together in a stimulating way.
The stimulus word method is a method in which some instruction words (stimulus words) are made to appear by accident, and then speaking according to the instructions.
[Procedure]
- Choose one random card with various stimulus words (toys, insects, etc.)
- Create an image from the stimulus words written on the selected card
- Multiply (associate) the theme with the image and think about the idea
You don’t care if you can or can’t - If there is something that comes up with the idea that came out, share it with everyone
- If you no longer have an idea, choose another stimulus card
This time, the specific target (theme) has not been determined, so this stimulus is suitable.
He explained that it is easier to come up with ideas if the specific target is fixed and using the word inflection method.
3.Combine ideas
You decide what you like from the ideas you give, and summarize who they are, what value they offer, and what technology they use.
While listening to the practical steps, I felt like I could think of a new combination of things that was explained by the principles of the idea.
Then practice!
Idea sharing was conducted for 30 minutes in groups of 4 to 5 people per team.
When I actually tried it, it was difficult to combine the stimulus word and the theme as it was,
In such cases, I thought it would be easier to come up with ideas by developing stimuli.
For example, if the stimulus word is “autumn leaves”, the image looks like “autumn leaves” → “sightseeing” → “photo”.
Also, when spreading ideas that other people have come up with, the more ideas that flow, the more interesting ideas come out.
Finally, each team presented their ideas.
The other team’s thinking was very interesting, and there were many interesting ideas.
About 30 to 50 ideas came out per team in this idea proposal, and Mr. Suzuki praised all teams as having the ability to develop ideas!
Summary
As a summary of the workshop, because ideas do not come out easily even if they are thinking alone, they gather together with 3 or 4 people to do anything, give them ideas, develop those ideas, and most of all have fun Was important.
Participant comments
- If this was a job, it was just fun. I want to be able to enjoy it in my future work.
- I was able to talk to people in the department that I usually don’t get involved with, and came up with ideas that I couldn’t think of alone. I would like to brush up on recruiting MURAN based on this idea
I also participated in this workshop. And it was so much fun and quickly.
Why don’t you create ideas while enjoying yourself with your friends?
