About This Work
This work is an interactive installation that uses EEG sensing and a half mirror to visualize inner states such as “intention,” “focus,” and “tension.”
The more the viewer tries to “do it right” or control the system, the more the image distorts; only when they relax and let go does the state stabilize and settle.
Inspired by the Yata no Kagami, the sacred mirror among Japan’s Imperial Regalia, the piece explores the mirror as a contemporary theme.
The project envisions collaboration with AGC Inc. and artists, and also aims to enter international art competitions.
